How old were Waffles and Maple when they first met?

Waffles was 5 years old and Maple was 6 months old when they first met!

How did you introduce Maple to Waffles?

We took things slowly and kept Maple contained to the ground floor of our house using baby gates. It took Waffles a couple of weeks of observing from the top of the stairs to finally come down and meet her face to face. Every interaction is on Waffles’ terms. We now still have many high spots for Waffles and a couple of rooms that have door buddies on them so Maple can’t access them.

Is Waffles always angry?

Definitely not! He’s pretty content 95% of the time, but a content Waffles is not as entertaining! His favorite time is bedtime and he races his parents to jump into bed for nighttime cuddles.

Is Waffles declawed?

Nope! He still has all his claws, plus some extra claws on his extra toes. Some of these claws are a bit abnormal and get thick and curly so we take him into the professionals to get those trimmed on a regular basis.
